Vijay International School, Baie St Anne, Praslin, Seychelles
This website is designed to give you as much information as possible about our school. Whether you are a parent/guardian looking for a school for your child, a prospective employee of the school or a potential sponsor, we hope that this information will be useful to you.
Please, if you are in the Seychelles, feel welcome to come and see us personally or email me at email@example.com for the most up to date information about our school. We are a fairly new school with an exciting journey ahead.
Dear parents and guardians,
Following the announcement of two confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Seychelles, a decision has been taken by the school Board of Governors and management to close the school on account of the risks posed by COVID-19. The closure will be for a minimum of 7 days but will be constantly reviewed and evaluated during that time and parents kept informed of any developments via this email list and the school website.
During the closure we encourage students to stay at home as much as possible and avoid all contact with other students, both from VISP and other schools. Any students suffering from a continuous cough or high fever should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
School staff have already been preparing for a potential shutdown of the school for a number of days. Therefore, work will be available to download from the school website within the next 48 hours, with some already available. Parents of students in Reception 1 and 2 and Year 1 and 2 will be provided with a list of activities appropriate to do with their child during the shutdown. For students in Year 3 to Year 9, a bank of worksheets and activities will be made available, again on the website, in order to ensure that they continue to progress through the curriculum. Those students in Year 10 to Year 13 will also have work provided by the school available from the website. However, in addition, those students will be encouraged to submit tasks via email to their teachers who will be marking and feeding back during the closure. Students in these critical exam groups are encouraged to keep in direct contact every day with their class teachers who will be able to provide work remotely on an ongoing basis. A list of email addresses for staff will be made available on the portal soon.
We will continue to evaluate over the course of this week any further action that can be taken to ensure student progress through the curriculum.
The link for the portal can be found by clicking the adjacent button.
We apologise for the inconvenience and last minute nature of this announcement and the obvious childcare concerns some parents may have. However, given the rapidly changing nature of this situation we have no choice.
As not all parents are on our email list, we encourage you to share this information and to share that any parents wishing to receive further updates can do so by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. I will add them to the mailing list.
