Vijay International School, Baie St Anne, Praslin, Seychelles
Year 9 visited two farms on Praslin as part of their iGCSE Geography study. They have been learning about food production recently and we visited the farms to see what they produce and learn all about the challenges and benefits of producing locally. Both Steve and Charles, our guides on each farm, were incredibly informative and we learnt all about inputs, processes and outputs. We even got to hold the baby ducklings and Perry and Adrian had a go at local singing with instruments made from coconuts produced on one of the farms. A great day!
Year 8 Creative Writing
On Friday 17th June, year 8 took a trip around Praslin as part of their English Language revision. The class visited the rubbish dump at Amitie and then the beach at Anse Lazio. The purpose of the trip was to practice descriptive writing and creating alternative viewpoints. As you can see, the students worked incredibly hard and their work is a superb reflection of this. The fantastic descriptions they wrote will be added to the display board outside the junior library this week: please do come and take a look!
Year 9 Comedy/Horror Podcasts
Inspired by the fantastic comedy podcast Welcome to Night Vale, Year 9 have created their own comedy radio shows. Rather than being set in a horrific dystopian version of an American town, they based theirs on the Seychelles. Expect zombies, eyeball stew and some tips for a terrifying Valentine's Day. Please listen to their podcasts below and vote for the one which you enjoyed the most.
And hey, thanks for listening.
