The Vijay International School, Praslin is a not-for-profit school owned by an association of parents who have their children enrolled at the school. The school offers educational programmes to children aged 3 years to 18 years, with Year 11 students taking IGCSE and Year 12 and 13 taking A-Level examinations with CIE (Cambridge International Examinations). We are a fully accredited CIE centre.

We believe in challenging students to achieve their absolute best. We aim to give them a good grounding in literacy and numeracy whilst not forgetting that the other subjects in the curriculum are essential to effective progress and development. Students in Years 1 - 6  follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales with Early Childhood following the Early Years Framework. Year groups 7 - 9 follow the Cambridge International Curriculum which paves the way for the IGCSE and then A-Level years.

We pride ourselves on personalising our delivery and making sure that all students are happy and have their individual needs met. We have a strong Special Educational Needs department which identifies, assesses and responds to a student's individual requirements.

Our school motto is 'You are not born for yourself but for the world'. Praslin is a small island with a population of just over 6000 people. We feel that it is essential that our students acquire a global perspective and are aware of the different lifestyles and circumstances which exist in other countries.

We invite applications from candidates who hold a degree in a Science or a relevant related subject and have a post-graduate teacher qualification, or who have gained QTS through an alternative route whilst maintaining a specialism in Science. Experience of IGCSE and International A-Level would be preferred but is not essential. Candidates should have a proven track record of delivering high quality teaching and learning to students across the ability range. Previous experience with EAL students would be beneficial.
